アメリカのオバマ大統領が5月27日に広島訪問する際に、被爆者3人が立ち会うことがわかった。共同通信などが報じた。
NHKによると、立ち会うのは被爆者唯一の全国組織「日本原水爆被害者団体協議会（日本被団協）」の少なくとも3人で、広島で被爆した坪井直さん（91）、岩佐幹三代表委員（87）、長崎で被爆した田中煕巳事務局長（84）。原爆慰霊碑への献花などに立ち会うという。オバマ大統領は伊勢志摩サミット後の27日午後に広島市の平和公園を訪れて献花し、核兵器廃絶に向けた思いを話す予定だ。
一方、オバマ大統領に同行する予定だった元米兵捕虜の男性の訪問は取りやめになったという。
