米海兵隊の新型輸送機「オスプレイ」の訓練を大阪府で受け入れる意向を、大阪府の松井一郎知事が固めたことが6月2日、明らかになった。6日の菅義偉官房長官と会談する際に、表明する方針だ。候補地としては、国土交通省が管理する八尾空港（大阪府八尾市）が有力になっている。
松井知事は政党「日本維新の会」の幹事長を務めているが、同党の共同代表を務める橋下徹・大阪市長は先月「沖縄駐在の米軍司令官に風俗業の活用を勧めた」という趣旨の発言をした後に、謝罪・撤回している。沖縄県内での反発が大きかったことを受けて、松井知事としては、「日本維新の会」が沖縄の負担軽減に向けて努力している姿勢を強調する狙いがありそうだ。
朝日新聞デジタルでは次のように報じている。
大阪府の松井一郎知事（日本維新の会幹事長）は、沖縄県に集中する米軍の新型輸送機オスプレイの訓練の一部を大阪で受け入れる意向を固めた。６日に菅義偉官房長官と会談し、沖縄の負担軽減の一環としてオスプレイ訓練受け入れを沖縄県外の自治体に要請するよう求める際に表明する。八尾空港（同府八尾市）を候補地としている。

この八尾空港には陸上自衛隊や大阪府警、大阪市消防局のヘリコプターが配備されているだけで、定期便は就航していない。すでにオスプレイが配備されている沖縄県の普天間飛行場と同じく、住宅地に囲まれており、オスプレイ訓練の受け入れが決まれば、周辺住民からは反発する声も出そうだ。
