【ラグビー日本代表】なぜ外国人選手がいるの? 大活躍の五郎丸歩「外国人選手にもスポットを」と訴える

ラグビーW杯の19日の南アフリカ戦で、日本代表が歴史的勝利を挙げた。日本代表チームに外国人選手が含まれていることに驚いた人も少なくないのではないだろうか。

ラグビー・ワールドカップの9月19日にあった南アフリカ戦で、日本代表が歴史的勝利を挙げた。この熱戦をテレビなどで観戦し、サッカーなどとは違って日本代表チームに外国人選手が含まれていることに驚いた人も少なくないのではないだろうか。

スポニチは、代表選手の資格について次のように説明している。

15人制ラグビーでは当該国の国籍を持っている選手以外に、(1)出生地が当該国、(2)両親、祖父母のうち1人が当該国出身、(3)当該国で3年以上継続して居住歴がある、のいずれかを満たした場合、代表資格が得られる。今回の日本代表には、31人中10人の外国出身選手(南アフリカ生まれの松島を除く)がいる。

五郎丸ツイッターで訴え「日本代表にいる外国人選手にもスポットを」 ― スポニチ 2015/09/21 07:26)

南アフリカ戦で日本代表の1試合最多得点となる計24得点をマークしたフルバック(FB)の五郎丸歩選手(29)は9月21日、自身のTwitterを更新、「ラグビーが注目されてる今だからこそ日本代表にいる外国人選手にもスポットを」と訴えた。

ちなみに五郎丸歩(ごろうまる・あゆむ)選手は1986年、福岡市生まれ。3歳でラグビーを始める。佐賀工高時代は3年連続で花園に出場。早稲田大学では1年からスタメンで、全国大学選手権を3度制覇した。2008年、トップリーグのヤマハ発動機ジュビロに入団、昨季の日本選手権で優勝。185センチ、100キロ。

日本代表の次戦は23日のスコットランド戦。日本時間では同日午後10時30分に始まる。
