FIFAのブラッター会長が辞任表明 「世界中から支持されているわけではないようだ」

国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)のゼップ・ブラッター会長(79)が6月2日、スイスのチューリヒで記者会見を開き、会長辞任を表明した。

国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)のゼップ・ブラッター会長(79)が6月2日、スイスのチューリヒで緊急の記者会見を開き、会長辞任を表明した。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。

12月から2016年3月までの間に臨時総会を開き、会長選を行う予定だという。ブラッター会長は1998年から会長を務めている。5月27日にFIFA副会長ら複数の幹部が汚職容疑で逮捕されたばかりで責任を追及する声もあったが、同月29日の総会でブラッター氏は5選を果たしていた

ロイターによると、ブラッター会長はこの日の会見で「FIFAのメンバーからは(会長職の)委任を受けたが、世界中から支持されているわけではないようだ」と語ったという。

■アメリカ司法当局の捜査対象に 米紙報道

また、アメリカの新聞「ニューヨーク・タイムズ」電子版は2日、アメリカ司法当局がブラッター会長を捜査対象に含めていると報じた。捜査当局者は「ブラッター氏の立件に向け、起訴したFIFA幹部らの協力を得たい」と述べ、側近を含む関係者の証言が、捜査の鍵になるとの見方を示したという。
