トランプ政権が外国人渡航者に対し、SNSの履歴の提示を求める政策を検討していると報じられています。

トランプ大統領がイスラム教7カ国からの入国を大統領令で禁止し、大きな波紋を呼んでいる中、外国人渡航者に対する新たな政策を検討する動きがある。

トランプ政権がアメリカを訪れる外国人に対し、利用する全てのソーシャルメディアやウェブサイト、携帯電話の電話帳の提示を求める可能性を検討していると、CNNが報じた。

記事によると、外国人渡航者がソーシャルメディアの閲覧履歴などの提示を拒んだ場合、アメリカへの入国を拒否される可能性があるという。CNNは情報筋の話として、この政策はまだ検討をする準備段階だと伝えている。

テレグラフ紙は、ホワイトハウスのシーン・スパイサー報道官が、この政策が検討されるているのかどうかについて、正式に発表していないと報じている。

ポリティコによると、アメリカ政府は2016年末から、ビザ免除プログラムで入国する一部の外国人渡航者に対し、到着時にFacebookやTwitterといったソーシャルメディアのアカウント情報の提供を求める政策を始めている。潜在的なテロリストの脅威を見つけ出すためだが、IT大手などの反対を招いた経緯があった。今回の政策はさらなる波紋を呼びそうだ。
