コロンビアの南西部で大雨による大規模な土砂崩れが発生し、254人が死亡、約400人が負傷した。行方不明者も200人近くに達しているという。

コロンビアの南西部プトゥマヨ県で3月31日、大雨による大規模な土砂崩れが発生し、コロンビア軍によると、4月1日までに254人が死亡、約400人が負傷した。行方不明者も200人近くに達しているという。ロイターなどが報じた。

CNNによると、この地域は31日夜、130ミリの豪雨に見舞われた。平均月間降水量400ミリの約3分の1に相当する量だ。国家災害危機管理局のカルロス・イバン・マルケス局長によると、土砂崩れはこの地域を流れるモコア川とその支流の水位が上昇したことが原因で発生したという。

県都モコアのホセ・アントニオ・カストロ市長は地元ラジオに「すべて、崩れ落ちた」と述べた。水道と電気の機能が失われ、病院も機能していない。

被災地を視察したフアン・マヌエル・サントス大統領は、「災害は気候変動によって引き起こされた」などとコメント。この地域に非常事態を宣言し、救助活動に全力を挙げる考えを示した。
