一方で、ニューヨークやワシントンD.C.の人たちは新たな楽しみを見つけたようだ。
ニューヨークや首都ワシントンD.C.などの大都市では、バスや地下鉄を含む交通機関が運休するなど、都市機能が深刻な麻痺状態。そのため雪の中でも快適に移動できる手段として、スキーやスノーボードで移動する人々が確認されている。
