東京都渋谷区のトルコ大使館で10月25日午前7時ごろ、トルコ総選挙の在外投票のために集まったトルコ人とクルド系トルコ人との間で乱闘が発生し、これまでに9人がケガをした。産経ニュースなどが報じた。
NHKによると、11月1日に実施されるトルコ総選挙の在外投票を午前9時から実施する予定で、午前7時ごろから500人以上の人が集まっていた。大使館付近で掲げられた旗をめぐるトラブルがきっかけでトルコ人グループとクルド系トルコ人グループの間で小競り合いが発生し、午前11時ごろには600人ほどに膨れ上がり、警察が機動隊を動員して事態の収拾を図った。
トルコでは6月に行われた総選挙でクルド人を支援する平和民主党（HDP）が議席を伸ばし、与党の公正発展党（AKP）が第一党の座を失った。AKPは連立政権の樹立に失敗し、11月1日に再選挙を行うことになった。
トルコはシリアのIS（イスラム国）掃討に参戦すると同時に、イラク北部のクルド人勢力への空爆にも着手し、トルコ人とクルド人の間で対立が再燃している。
