トルコのイスタンブール中心部のサッカー場近くで12月10日夜、試合後に爆弾テロとみられる2度の爆発があった。トルコの現地メディアTRTワールドによると、29人が死亡、166人が負傷しそのうち6人は重傷を負っている。
TRTワールドによると、爆発事件があったのはプロサッカーチーム「ベシクタシュ」の本拠地のスタジアム。スレイマン内務大臣は亡くなった29人のうち27人が警察官、2人は民間人だったと発表。BBCは当局の話として警察官が標的だったと報じている。
事件が発生したのは、12月10日午後10時半ごろ。BBCによるとサッカーの試合が終わってから約2時間経っており、サポーターの大半はすでに退出していた。
まず、爆弾を積んだ自動車が遠隔操作によって爆発し、その45秒後、道を挟んだマッカ公園で、自爆テロによる2度目の爆発があった。10人が当局に拘束されている。
サッカーチームベシクタシュは、亡くなった民間人2人は、チームの関係者だったとTwitterで発表し、2人の死を悼んでいる。
TRTワールドは、2016年にトルコで頻発した爆弾テロなどによって、300人近くが命を落としたと報じている。トルコでの2016年の主なテロ事件は以下のとおり。
1月12日、イスタンブール・スルタンアフメットでの爆発で13人が死亡
2月17日、アンカラで移動中の軍を狙った攻撃で28人が死亡
3月13日、アンカラでの自動車爆弾で37人が死亡
6月28日、イスタンブール・アタチュルク空港で過激派組織IS（イスラム国）による自爆テロ、41人が死亡
8月20日、ガジアンテップでの結婚式で51人が殺される、ISによる自爆テロで犯人は12歳と14歳の少年だった
