【インド】Uber運転手のレイプ事件、Twitter上で怒りの声相次ぐ「自分が被害者になったかもしれない」

Twitter上では怒りのメッセージが渦巻いている。多くの女性は、2012年の集団レイプ事件以来、恐ろしい現実が思い起こされている。

インドの首都デリーで12月5日夜、25歳の女性客をレイプした疑いでアメリカの配車アプリ「Uber(ウーバー)」と契約したタクシー運転手が逮捕された事件で、デリー政府は9日、 デリー市内でUberを営業停止処分とした。

5日夜11時、Uber のアプリを使ってタクシーを予約した被害者の女性はデリー南部のバサント・ビハールでタクシーに乗り、自宅のあるデリー北部まで移動しようとした。タクシー運転手は、被害者の女性が眠ったことに気づいて人気のない場所まで車を走らせ、数時間後に目を覚ました彼女をレイプした。

2012年に走行中のバスの中で起きた少女の集団レイプ事件から2年目を迎える時、その事件は起きた。今回の事件は、大都市のデリーといえども、日ごろ公共交通機関を利用する女性たちに身の危険があることを改めて思い知らされた。

デリー市当局のの女性委員長バールカ・シュクラ・シン氏がUberの営業停止を命じた。「私はこの事件の真相を探るために警察署に行きましたが、女性は心に深い傷を負っていました。問題のタクシー会社は禁止されるべきです。そしてジェンダーに対する感性がインドで広く教育されるべきです」と述べた

政治家からも非難の声が相次いだ。

最大野党インド国民会議派のラーシド・アルヴィ氏はインドのANI通信に対し、「非常に残念なことだが、このような事件は起き続けている。政府は責任を取るべきだ。デリーの軍幹部がなぜ沈黙しているのかわからない。警察本部長は何をしているのか? このような事件が起きるのは痛ましいことだ。女性は安心できない」と述べた。

また、野党アーム・アードミ党のラキー・ビルラ氏は、「デリーで少女がタクシーの中でレイプされた。どこが厳戒態勢なのか?これは由々しき事態だ」と述べた

与党インド人民党(BJP)のナラシンハ・ラオ報道官はすみやかに対策をとることを約束した。「このような事件はデリーで起き続けている。とても残念なことだ。一般市民は強い警戒を怠らないようにしてほしいし、警察も警備を怠ってはならない」と述べた。

Twitter上では「私が被害者になったかもしれない」と、怒りのメッセージが渦巻いている。多くの女性は、2012年の集団レイプ事件以来、恐ろしい現実にさらされ続けている。
