ウクライナ選手、抗議の五輪離脱 戦闘で死者、政権批判

ソチ五輪のアルペンスキー競技のウクライナ代表、ボグダナ・マツォツカ選手(24)は、ウクライナで続く戦闘で多数の犠牲者が出ていることに抗議して、コーチの父親と共に21日の女子回転への出場を取りやめることを決めた。マツォツカ選手は20日、ロイターテレビに対し「政権が『平和』という五輪のルールを破っているときにスタートラインに立つことはできない」と述べた。

ブブカさん「五輪停戦を」 祖国ウクライナに呼びかけ

男子棒高跳びの世界記録を35回塗り替え、「鳥人」の異名をとるセルゲイ・ブブカ氏(50)が、反政権勢力と治安部隊の衝突が続く祖国ウクライナに「五輪停戦」を呼びかけている。

同国オリンピック委員会の会長を務めるブブカ氏は19日、ツイッターに「対話は力であり、暴力は弱さだ」「ウクライナの選手はソチで平和に、そして敬意をもって戦っている。暴力の居場所は世界にない」「すべての当事者に呼びかける。五輪の伝統を思い出してほしい。武器を置くのだ」と書き込んだ。

「五輪休戦」は古代五輪以来の伝統。国連総会は昨年11月、ソチ五輪とパラリンピックの期間中の停戦を加盟国に求める決議を採択している。

ブブカ氏が21年間保持していた室内世界記録の6メートル15は2月15日に破られたばかり。屋外記録の6メートル14は依然として世界記録。
