[マニラ 5日 ロイター] - 米国とフィリピンによる数千人規模の年次合同軍事演習が5日、始まった。両国が締結した新たな軍事協定の下、南シナ海で海洋進出の動きを強める中国を念頭に、海洋警備に重点を置いた訓練が行われる。

[マニラ 5日 ロイター] - 米国とフィリピンによる数千人規模の年次合同軍事演習が5日、始まった。両国が締結した新たな軍事協定の下、南シナ海で海洋進出の動きを強める中国を念頭に、海洋警備に重点を置いた訓練が行われる。

フィリピンのデルロサリオ外相は開会式で「領有権をめぐって過度の主張がなされ、法の支配が損なわれるなか、アジア太平洋地域での緊張が高まっている。現状変更を目的とした強引な行動は地域の平和と安定を脅かす」と述べ、今回の軍事演習が諸問題の解決能力向上につながるとの考えを示した。

こうしたなか、中国外務省の華春瑩報道官は、アジア太平洋地域の平和と安定維持に向け、すべての関係国が建設的に取り組む必要があると語った。
