ハリルホジッチ監督が被災地訪問 「ユーゴ内戦の悲しい思い出よみがえった」

サッカー日本代表のハリルホジッチ監督が5月5日、地震で甚大な被害を受けた熊本県を訪問。避難所などに訪れ、被災した子供達と交流した。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。

この日、ハリルホジッチ監督は甲佐町のスポーツ施設を訪れ、近隣の小学生約150人と交流した。子供たちやその家族など、集まった500人がサインを求める列をつくったという。また、駆けつけたJ2熊本のFW巻誠一郎(35)に誘われ、子供たちとサッカーのミニゲームにも参加。「ハリル」コールを浴びながらPKを決め、場を盛り上げた

移動中にハリルホジッチ監督は、震度7の揺れに見舞われた益城町の被害状況も目の当たりにした。この時、故郷ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナで経験したユーゴスラビア内戦時の苦境を思い出したという。

「益城町を始め、宇城、宇土でも、甚大な被害を見ました。かつては私の家も同じ状態でした。だから被害を見た時に、戦争の状況を思い起こした」

ユーゴ内戦。ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの自宅近くで、ハリルホジッチ監督は昨日までの「ご近所さん」に銃を向けられた。自衛のための銃がポケットで暴発し、大けがをして病院に担ぎ込まれた。戻ってみると、すでに自宅は元の姿を保ってはいなかった。

「そのような悲しい思い出がよみがえったので、私は立ち上がらないといけないと思った。戦いは続く。人生も続く。まずは若い世代を勇気づけないと、日本は復活しない」

スポニチによると、今回の被災地訪問はハリルホジッチ監督自ら志願し、実現したという。日本サッカー協会の田嶋幸三会長(58)とともに熊本県内を縦断し、マットレスや飲料水なども届けた。
