べトナム中部クアンガイ省で7日、密林で約40年間暮らしてきた男性2人が保護された。ベトナム戦争中から今日までの間、ほぼ誰とも会わなかったとみられる。朝日新聞デジタルが伝えた。
ベトナム紙トイチェ紙によると、保護されたのはホー・バン・タインさん(82)と息子のホー・バン・ランさん(42)。タインさんは約40年前、住んでいた村が爆撃を受け、妻と子供4人のうち2人を亡くし、ショックや悲しみから当時2歳だったランさんを連れて密林に入った。
10年後になって、2人が生存しているのを村人が発見。その後、タインさんの別の息子らが2人を訪ねて戻るよう説得したが、聞き入れなかったという。
2人はことばを僅かしか話せないということで、地元の自治体が社会に復帰できるよう支援することにしている。
