写真でハワイの魅力をお届けするこのコーナー。今回はハワイの公園やビーチなどで撮った、緑が美しい写真をセレクトしました。ハワイの空や海がきれいに見えるのは、さんさんと輝く太陽をいっぱい受けて元気に育った緑があってこそ。日本の植物よりも、緑の色が濃く、力強く見えるの気のせいではないはずです。
観光客の方にとって一番身近で、緑があふれる場所といえば、カピオラニ公園でしょう。ワイキキビーチの近くにも、こんな芝生のスペースがあり人々の憩いの場所です。
こちらもカピオラニ公園。こんな巨大な樹木があちこちにあります。日なたは暑くても、木陰に入ると爽やかな風が通り抜けて心地よく過ごせます。カピオラニ公園はさまざまなイベントが行われる場所でもあります。
こちらはアラモアナ公園。アラモアナセンターの海側にある、これまた大きな公園で、先端部分には歩行者のみしか入れない「マジックアイランド」があり、ランニングやウォーキングに格好のスポットです。ハワイウェディングを挙げたカップルの撮影スポットにもよく使われています。
どこまでも高く伸びていきそうなヤシの木。真っ青な空とのコントラストがきれいです。
ハワイは街の中心にも緑があふれています。こちらはワイキキ・ビーチ・ウォーク。オープンエアのこの芝生エリアが、さまざまなイベントの舞台となります。
こちらはシェラトン･ワイキキからお隣のホテル、ロイヤル･ハワイアン･ラグジュアリー･コレクション･リゾートを臨んだところ。
太陽の光を受けて、緑も花もどんどん逞しく育っていっているのがよくわかります。あたり前のように緑と海があるのが、ハワイ。だからこそ心が洗われて、私たちを癒してくれているのでしょうね。

The 11th annual Colorado Dragon Boat festival continued today July 31,2011 at Sloan\'s Lake in Denver, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits. Dragon boat racing is over 2,000 years old and is steeped in Chinese tradition. At the festival there are two types of boats that were used this year. The Taiwan style boat aka Flag Catching boats, where boats race to capture a flag at the end. They race in pairs. The second style is the international standard Hong Kong style boat where three boats race against each other. There were 3 different divisions in each category.
