戦争や紛争での世界の死者数は昨年28％増、シリアの犠牲深刻
米シンクタンク、ＰＳ２１の調査によると、２０１４年に世界で最も熾烈だった戦争や紛争２０件による死者の数が、前年から２８％以上増加した。２年連続で、シリアでの犠牲が最も深刻となった。１０００人以上の死者が出た戦争や紛争は１４件で、前年の１０件を上回った。
調査は、米軍、国連、シリアとイラクの団体などのデータを分析。その結果、昨年シリアで死亡した人は７万６０００人超となり、前年の７万３４４７人から増加した。
最も激しい戦争や紛争の多くはイスラム過激派グループが関与。過激派組織「イスラム国」と政府が戦っているイラクでは２万１０００人前後が死亡した。他の国では、アフガニスタンの１万４６３８人、ナイジェリアの１万１５２９人などとなっている。ウクライナ東部は、８番目に死者が多かった。
ＰＳ２１は、データは実情を大きく下回っている可能性があるとしている。
