数学の天才はどこ?

アメリカテキサス州サンアントニオにあるにあるレストラン「ヤヤズ・タイ」でWi-Fiを使いたい場合には、かなりの忍耐力が求められる。

アメリカのテック系ニュースサイト「マッシャブル」によると、このレストランのWi-Fiパスワードは複雑な数式になっている。どうやら、この数式の解答がパスワードになっているようだ。これまでのところ、この問題は人々を悩ませ続けたままだ。

投稿サイト「REddit」のユーザー、ジョシュア・グロックさん(ユーザー名:Joshua_Glock)は10月28日、Wi-Fiパスワードの貼り紙を撮った写真をネットに投稿した。

これは地元タイ料理レストランのWi-Fiパスワード。私は何としてもネットワークに繋ぐ決意だ。数学の天才はどこ?

「数学の天才はどこ?」と、レディッター(Redditのユーザー)であるジョシュアさんは問いかけた。レストランのネットワークに「何としても繋ぐ決意だ」とも言い添えた。

この画像は、あっという間にネット上を駆け巡った。何人か、解答らしきものを提示したレディッターもいた。あるいは、問題に間違いがあるとか、ひっかけ問題ではないかと推測する人もいた。

一方、ジョシュアさんは投稿された解答を参考に、後にレストランを訪問した時に試してみた。しかし、うまくいかなかったようだ。

ジョシュアさんが、今も暗号の解読に成功したいと思っているようだが、この飲食店のネットワークにログインできた人が他にいるのかどうかは、はっきりしていない。

レストランとジョシュア・グロックさんにコメントを求めたが、すぐに回答はなかった。
