中国湖北省荊州市の長江で456人乗りの客船が転覆した事故で、中国政府は6月3日夜、転覆した客船「東方之星」の船底に穴を空ける作業に入った。

中国湖北省荊州市の長江で456人乗りの客船が転覆した事故で、中国政府は6月3日夜、転覆した客船「東方之星」の船底に穴を空ける作業に入った。事故の発生から2日間が経過し、生存者の救出が険しさを増している。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。

テレ朝newsによると、これまでに救出されたのは14人。死亡が確認されたのは29人で、依然として400人以上が行方不明。多くが船内に閉じ込められているとみられる。政府は救助の主力を潜水士に担わせてきたが、大雨が続いて川の流れが速く、潜水士での捜索は困難と判断した模様だ。
