空港利用客の満足度向上策探り実証実験 数学理論活用し

空港利用客の満足感を高める方策を数理研究者と空港ビル運営会社が協力して探る実証実験が、福岡空港で始まった。2年間の実証実験で、旅客の満足度を高める方策の立案と検証を行う、と実証実験チームは言っている。

実証実験を行うのは、九州大学マス・フォア・インダストリ研究所、福岡空港ビルディング株式会社、株式会社富士通研究所の研究者、スタッフたち。九州大学マス・フォア・インダストリ研究所は、アジア初の産業技術に関わる数学研究拠点で、産業のための数学理論研究を行う研究部門に加え、理論の実装・公開を進める「数学理論先進ソフトウェア開発室」を持つ。

今回の実証実験の中心となるのは、同研究所内に昨年9月新設された富士通ソーシャル数理共同研究部門。社会課題の解決に向けた数理技術の研究開発を目的に、九州大学、富士通株式会社、株式会社富士通研究所の三者がつくった。

実証実験は、福岡空港の国内線と国際線ターミナルビルで行われる。最初に取り組むテーマは、国際線ターミナルのチェックインなど出発手続きでの混雑緩和。手荷物検査、チェックイン、保安検査、出国審査の手続きで待たされる乗客の不満解消を目的とする数理モデルをつくり、レーンやカウンターの数、一人当たりのサービス時間などのデータを入力してシミュレーションを実施する。カウンターやレーン数の変更、インライン・スクリーニング・システムの導入などの効果を数理的に分析し、その結果に基づいて実際の施策を決定する。

数理モデルを用いることで、施策がどれだけ旅客の満足度を高める効果があったかを定量的に理解できるようになるため、航空会社や警備会社を含めた多数の現場関係者間で納得のいく議論が可能になる。また、数理研究者が現場に根付いた数理技術を作るためのヒントを得ることができる、と関係者は実証実験の意義を説明している。
