トルコの首都アンカラで10月10日に発生した自爆テロとみられる2回の爆発で、死者は少なくとも95人、負傷者は246人に達した(11日時点)。

爆発現場ではクルド人や左派グループが、再燃しているトルコ人とクルド人の反体制勢力の衝突を終わらせるように政府へ求める集会を開催していた。トルコ各地から平和的なデモ行進に参加するためにアンカラに集結していた。

トルコの通信社ドーガンが公開した動画によると、爆発が起きる前、アンカラ駅前ではデモ参加者が手をつないで踊ったりスローガンを唱えたりしていた集団がいた。2回の爆発はその集団からおよそ50メートル離れたところで立て続けに発生した。

今回の爆発はトルコ国内ではこの10年間で最悪のものとなった

爆発からまぬがれたトルコ人のアニメーター、イスメットさん(56)は、けが人であふれて血まみれの爆発現場でハフポストUS版に「けが人を救おうと思ったが、多くの人がバラバラになってしまいました」と語った。「近くにいる人を助けようとしましたが、その人の手足は吹き飛ばされていました」

2回目の爆発の後、イスメットさんは混乱状態の中手探りで、生存者がいないか倒れている人たちを次々と確かめた。彼は一心不乱に自分の妻と子供を探しまわったが、無事が確認された。

爆発後、複数の生存者はハフポストUS版に、けが人を介抱していた人々に警察が催涙スプレーをかけていたと証言した。

今回の爆破の犯行声明はまだ出ていないが、トルコのアフメト・ダウトオール首相は記者会見で、自爆テロ犯が実行したという「有力な手がかり」があったと述べ、IS(イスラム国)やトルコからの独立をめざすクルド人の分離主義者たちの犯行の可能性を示唆した。

犯行現場の写真や動画を見ると、催涙ガスが充満する通りには遺体やけが人が辺り一面に横たわっていた。

AP通信によると、人々はデモで使っていた旗や横断幕を使ってケガの治療にあたったり、けが人を運搬した。

警察は爆発現場に近づこうとした報道陣を阻止した。学生たちのグループが投稿した動画によると、警察はデモ参加者たちは解散させ、バリケードを築いて救急車の往来を妨害した。

警察の警戒線の背後で、防護服を来た人間が2回の爆発の損害状況を調査している。警察は一般人や報道陣を爆発現場から隔離した。

AP通信によると、デモ参加者はアンカラ周辺の病院で怒りを爆発させた。生存者や犠牲者の親族は政府の対応に苛立ちを募らせている。デモ参加者の中には、トルコのレジェップ・タイイップ・エルドアン大統領を指して「殺人者エルドアン!」と叫んだ。

アンカラのヌムネ病院前には多くの人が集まり、けが人の状況を情報公開するよう求めたが、病院内部への立ち入りは禁止された。

「お姉さん、彼は死んでしまった!」と、ある年配の女性は病院の緊急救急室の入口で泣き叫んだ。「まさか彼が! 一緒に朝食をとったのに」。周囲の人々が黙って見つめる中、彼女は連れ出された。

トルコ人男性のメブルットさん(30)は、300個のサンドイッチを入れたプラスティック製のバッグを持って病院の前にいる群衆の間を行き来していた。「ここで手助けしたいだけなんです」と彼はハフポストUS版の取材に答えた。メブルットさんはまた、病院内に入るのを許されたらすぐに献血をするつもりだと述べた。

病院前にいたもう一人の女性は、くしゃくしゃになったメモ用紙を持っていた。そこには爆発で犠牲となった6人の友人の名前が書かれていた。彼女はハフポストUS版に、6人のうち5人が行方不明で、1人は死んだと語った。彼女は話しているうちに涙を浮かべ、メモ用紙をかたく握りしめた。

ドーガン通信社によると、10日に発生した爆発で、政府と、デモ参加者を狙った攻撃に対する抗議の声が国中に広がった。

AFP通信によると、最大の抗議デモはイスタンブールで発生し、1万人の参加者が爆発に抗議して市内を行進した。デモ参加者の中には、政府を非難する横断幕を掲げる者もいた。

報道管制が敷かれつつある爆発の現場写真

トルコ当局は報道陣に対して、爆発した瞬間、陰惨な血まみれの爆発現場、あるいは「パニックを引き起こすような画像」などを掲載しないよう報道管制を敷いた。政府報道官は報道機関に、要請に応じない場合は「完全な報道管制」を敷くことになると警告した。

トルコ国内では10日朝からTwitterやFacebookといったSNSが使用できない状態となった。当局がウェブサイトへのアクセスを遮断したかどうかは明らかではないが、トルコ人はこれまでもテロ攻撃や政府のスキャンダルなどが発生した時、頻繁にネット規制を受ける。

トルコの治安部隊が爆発現場で催涙ガスを発射する

爆発の直後、クルド人の反体制勢力は大方の予想通りの声明を発表し、11月1日に行われるトルコの総選挙に備えて一時停戦を呼びかけた。

クルド人勢力は声明で、「公平で平等な選挙」が認められるために、クルド人を標的にしないという条件が認められれば攻撃を停止すると述べた。

最新の声明では、クルド人勢力は爆発事件の責任は政府にあり、与党の公正発展党(AKP)が選挙で権力を維持するため不正な手段を行使していると非難した。

ロイターによると、トルコ議会内でクルド人を支援する平和民主党(HDP)のセラハッティン・デミルタス党首も政府の対応を批判した。「保守的で、口をつぐむ政府はもう賞味期限切れだ。政府は殺人者だ。政府の手は血にまみれている」とデミルタス党首は述べた。

10日の爆発は、少なくともこの10年間でクルド人活動家を狙った一連の爆発事件の中でも、もっとも被害の大きい流血の事態となった。

6月には、HDPの選挙集会で2回の大きな爆発があり、2人が死亡、多数が負傷した。その1カ月後には、ISとみられる自爆テロで33人の活動家が死亡した。その多くはシリアとの国境付近の街スルクに住むクルド人だった。

6月の選挙では、HDPが議席を伸ばしAKPは議会内で第一党の座を失い、トルコの政治は不安定なものとなった。AKPは連立政権の樹立に失敗し、11月に再選挙を行うことを決定した。

爆発現場で生存者が立ち尽くす

再選挙を表明した直後に、トルコ政府はシリアのIS掃討に参戦することを表明し、アメリカ主導の有志連合による空爆に参加し、アメリカ空軍にトルコの空軍基地を提供した。

同時に、トルコ政府はイラク北部のクルド人勢力への空爆に着手した。トルコとイラクのクルド人部隊はこの数十年断続的に衝突を繰り返しており、2012年に双方が短期間の停戦に合意し沈静化していたが、今回の空爆で対立が再燃している。
