ロシア外務省は4月1日、公式TwitterとFacebookでエイプリルフールのジョークとして、ある動画をアップロードした。しかしその笑えない内容に、世界には衝撃が走っている。

動画は、大使館に電話をかけた際の音声メッセージをもじったもの。ロシア語に続いて、英語でも音声メッセージが流される。

メッセージの内容はこんな風だ。

あなたの政治的な敵にロシア外交官からの電話をかけてほしい方は、ダイヤル1を押してください。ロシアのハッカーを利用したい場合はダイヤル2を、選挙に介入したい場合はダイヤル3を押してください...

このネタは明らかに、2016年のアメリカ大統領選でドナルド・トランプ氏陣営がロシア側に接触し、ロシア側のハッカーによってヒラリー陣営のメールが流出した疑惑や、その目的が大統領選でのトランプ陣営支援だったという疑惑などを背景にしたものだ。

この問題を巡っては、駐米ロシア大使と接触した疑惑を受けてマイケル・フリン氏が大統領補佐官の辞任に追い込まれている。

「エイプリルフールのジョーク」で片付けるには深刻すぎる内容に、Twitter上などでは疑問を呈する声が広がっている。

AP通信の取材に対して、ロシアの外務省の職員は匿名で、「多くの政治的風刺のように、このジョークは実は、深刻な内容を含んでいる。つまり、ロシアがアメリカ大統領選挙に関与したという疑惑を覆す目的のものだ」と明かしている。ジョークの体裁を取った情報戦の一環のようだ。

ワシントン・ポストによると、プーチン大統領は3月30日、記者団に対して、ロシアの大統領選への介入疑惑は嘘であり、アメリカ国内政治の問題だと発言している。
