アメリカの歌手アリアナ・グランデさん(23)が5月27日、自身のSNSアカウントに声明文を投稿し、イギリス・マンチェスターでの公演後に起きた自爆テロ事件の被害者と遺族のために、現地で慈善公演を行うと発表した。詳細は後日発表するという。

アリアナさんはツアーを一時中断しアメリカに帰国している。自爆テロ事件が起きた翌日の23日に、「傷つきました。心の底から本当に残念です。言葉が見つかりません」と公式Twitterに投稿してから初めての声明となった。

アリアナさんは声明文で、犠牲者やその家族らに向けて哀悼の意を表し、「勇敢な都市マンチェスターに戻り、ファンたちと時間を過ごし、犠牲者とその家族のために慈善公演を開き、寄付活動をします」と宣言した。

事件以降、アリアナさんのファンの間では、彼女を勇気づけるためにシングル曲を買って応援しよう呼びかける運動「#ArianaFanProject」が広がっていた。アリアナさんは「あなた方がしてくれたことに本当に励まされ、誇りに思いました」とファンへの感謝の思いも綴った。

私の心、祈り、そして深い哀悼の意は、マンチェスターの自爆テロ事件の犠牲者と、その愛する人とともにあります。

あなた方が感じている堪え難い苦痛を取り除いたり、少しでも癒したりするために、私や他の誰かが出来ることが見つかりません。

それでも、あなた方が私の助けを求めていてもいなくても、私が与えられるすべてを与えるため、手と心を広げたいと思います。

私たちが今出来ることは、この状況が私たちにどのような影響を与えるのか、私たちがこの先どう生きていくのか選んでいくだけです。

私は、ファンや皆さんのことをこの1週間ずっと考えています。あなた方がしてくれたことに本当に励まされ、誇りに思いました。

あなた方が見せてくれた思いやりや、優しさ、愛、強さ、そして一体感は、月曜日に起きたことと同等の憎むべき行為とは、まったく正反対のものです。

あなた方は、本当に正反対の立場にいます。

あなた方が感じているはずの痛みと恐怖、そして事件によってあなたも経験してしまったであろうトラウマを、心苦しく思っています。

私たちの本能にはあるはずのないものなので、どうしてあのような出来事が起こってしまったのか、理解することができません。だからこそ、私たちは怯んではいけません。

私たちは恐れによって立ち止まることも、行動することもしません。

この行為によって私たちを分断させることはできません。

憎悪には支配されません。

私は、ファンたちと会い、抱きしめ、元気づけることができないまま、私自身もファンたちによって元気づけられることができないまま、2017年の残された時間を過ごしたくありません。

この暴力に対する私たちの返答は、これまでよりも一致団結してお互いを助け、もっと愛し、大きな声で歌い、もっと親切に、寛大に生きていくことでなければなりません。

私は、とても勇敢な都市マンチェスターに戻り、ファンたちと時間を過ごし、犠牲者とその家族のために慈善公演を開き、寄付活動をします。マンチェスターへの愛を、私たちの気持ちと一緒になって表明してくれた仲間のミュージシャンや友人たちに感謝したいと思います。すべてが決まったら、すぐに詳細を共有します。

「デンジャラス・ウーマン・ツアー」をスタートさせた日、このショーが何よりも私のファンにとって安全な空間になることを目指したいと伝えました。ファンたちにとって逃避できるための空間で、祝福したり、癒しになったり、安全を感じたり、自分自身になるための空間にしたいと。オンラインで知り合った友達と会うための空間に。自分たちを表現できる空間に。

この思いは変わりません。

ショーで観客を見ると、美しくて、多様で、純粋で、幸せな観衆が見えるのです。

信じられないほど違う顔をした何千人もの人々が、たったひとつ同じ理由で、音楽のために、そこにいるのです。

音楽は、地球上の誰もがシェアできるものです。

音楽は私たちを癒し、ひとつにし、幸せにするためにあります。

だから、それこそが私たちのためにやり続けていくべきことです。

犠牲になってしまった人々や、彼らが愛する人、私のファンたち、そしてこの悲劇に影響を受けたすべての人々に敬意を表し続けます。

彼らは毎日、私の気持ちと心の中にあり続け、残りの人生ずっと彼らのことを想い続けます。
