60人の集団強盗が通勤電車を急襲、30秒で携帯やバッグを奪う 青少年グループの犯行か

カリフォルニア州オークランドのベイエリア高速鉄道(BART)の車内で4月22日夜、集団強盗が発生し、警察が監視映像を詳細に調査したところ。最大で60人の容疑者が関与していた。現場にいた証言者によると、突然路上や公共の場で集団パフォーマンスをする「フラッシュモブ」のようだったという。

捜査当局は25日、ロサンゼルス・タイムズ紙に数十人の10代の若者たちが土曜日の夜、自動改札機を飛び越えて通勤電車を急襲し、電車内にいた6人の乗客とホームにいた1人から財布、5台の携帯電話、ダッフルバッグ1つをわずか30秒で強奪した、と伝えた。容疑者らは警察が到着する前に街中に散らばっていった。

被害者の1人は地元テレビ局KPIXの取材に、侵入してきた集団は、はじめは「馬鹿騒ぎをしている」だけのように見えた、と証言した。

「暴力的になっていると気づいた頃には、すでに誰かが私の電話をひったくっていました」

2人の乗客2人が顔や頭をケガし、救急医療隊員が治療した。

KPIXによると、これまでに同じ路線でフラッシュモブ強盗が数回発生しているという。BARTの広報担当者、アリシア・トロスト氏は「これほどの大人数が関与した強盗は初めてだ」と語った。

地元紙「SF Gate」によると「勤続24年になりますが、こんなことが起こったのは初めてです」と、BARTの鉄道警察官キース・ガルシア氏は語った。

BARTの鉄道警察と、電車近くのコロシアム駅の駐車場にいた警官が数分で現場に駆けつけたが、時すでに遅しだったという。

「SF Gate」によると、容疑者らが青少年に見えるため監視映像は公開されていない。しかし、その映像は容疑者を特定するために住宅当局や学校当局と共有されている。

「過去にもこのグループと青少年の画像を共有し、容疑者の特定と逮捕に成功しました」と、トロスト氏は語った。
