中国蘭州市で水道水から発がん性物質、基準値の20倍

中国北西部の甘粛省蘭州市で11日、水道水から安全基準値の20倍もの発がん性物質ベンゼンが検出され、市民らがペットボトルの飲料水を買い込むなどの混乱が起きた。

中国北西部の甘粛省蘭州市で11日、水道水から安全基準値の20倍もの発がん性物質ベンゼンが検出され、市民らがペットボトルの飲料水を買い込むなどの混乱が起きた。

水道水の供給は一部の地域で停止され、市当局は24時間以内は水道水を飲まないよう、市民に呼びかけた。

汚染された供給パイプは遮断され、活性炭によるベンゼン除去作業が進められているという。

水道会社の初期調査では、原水を処理施設に運ぶパイプで起きた工業汚染が原因だという。

蘭州市は人口360万人を擁する工業都市で、汚染が深刻な地域となっている。[北京/パリ 11日 ロイター]
