この飛び跳ねるキツネザルは、踊るのが大好きに違いない。オーストラリア人写真家のシャノン・ベンソンさんは、マダガスカル島に滞在中にこの光景を撮影したという。

まるで道の向こう側にいる何かにアピールしようとするかのように移動しているこの動物は「シファカ」と呼ばれるキツネザルの一種だ。このように後ろ足で立ち、両手を空中に投げ出すユニークな移動方法は、なるべく素早く敵から逃げるための習性だという。それにしても本当に、両手を上げてダンスしているように見える…。
