インドでは、熱波が続いている。5月25日には各地で気温45度を記録し、今後の予報も軒並み40度を超えた。5月の気温としては異例で、地元紙のヒンドスタン・タイムズは、デリー市街の横断歩道が、熱波のため溶けている様子を、Twitterに投稿している。
なお同紙によれば、デリーの5月の過去最高気温は、1944年に記録した47.2度だという。
