［ベルリン ３１日 ロイター］ - フランス南部で起きた独ジャーマンウイングス機墜落で、旅客機を故意に墜落させた可能性のあるアンドレアス・ルビッツ副操縦士（２７）について、親会社ルフトハンザの航空学校に在籍中の２００９年当初、ルビッツ氏に深刻なうつ病の病歴があったことを学校側が把握していたことが明らかとなった。
ルフトハンザは３１日、同氏が一時期、数カ月にわたり訓練を中断し、その後、２００９年に訓練を再開した際、「過去に深刻なうつ病の症状」を患ったことを示す医療記録を学校側に提出していたことを認めた。
同社はルビッツ氏が飛行に必要な医療検査に合格していたと強調しているが、同氏をめぐる選考過程に問題がなかったか、あらためて問われそうだ。
