ペルーにある世界遺産「ナスカの地上絵」付近に、環境保護団体「グリーンピース」が落書きをして避難されていた問題に関連して、同団体が同じペルーの世界遺産、マチュピチュ付近でも活動していたことがわかった。同団体の公式Twitterなどで画像が公開されている。

グリーンピースはマチュピチュの向かい側にそびえる山に、世界的な気候変動に対して行動を起こすよう促すメッセージを光で投影した。また、マチュピチュの壁に沿って、垂れ幕をかけた写真も公開されている。世界遺産付近での活動は、今後も議論を呼びそうだ。
