サニブラウン・ハキームが準決勝進出【世界陸上】（画像集）

陸上の世界選手権第4日が25日、北京で行われ、16歳のサニブラウン・ハキームが男子200メートル予選4組に登場、20秒35の2着で26日夜の準決勝に進んだ。

陸上の世界選手権第4日は8月25日、北京で行われ、16歳5カ月のサニブラウン・ハキーム（東京・城西高）が男子200メートル予選4組に登場、20秒35の2着で26日夜の準決勝に進んだ。

この種目で世界選手権史上最年少出場。「僕はチャレンジャー。何も失うものはない」と話した通り、スタートから前傾姿勢で思い切り突っ込んだ。一番外側の９レーンで、「前に誰もいないので、自分の走りができたらいいと思った」。

３番手争いをしながら直線に入り、ゴール前で１人抜き、１００メートル銀メダルのガトリンに次ぐ２着でフィニッシュした。

26日夜に行われる準決勝で、サニブラウンは、予選に続いてジャスティン・ガトリン（アメリカ）と同じ2組に入った。準決勝は3組あり、各組2着までと3着以下のタイム上位2選手が27日の決勝に進む。

サニブラウンは、ガーナ人の父と、短距離で高校総体に出た日本人の母を持つ。187センチ、74キロ。
