日本スケート連盟は、11月28日に開幕する、フィギュアスケート・グランプリシリーズのNHK杯に羽生結弦が出場すると発表した。26日の試合会場の大阪で練習をしたという。
羽生は8日のグランプリシリーズで、中国人選手と練習中に衝突。頭と顎、太ももなどを負傷したが、そのまま競技に出場。2位に入ったが、頭部を打った直後に強行出場したことで、「ケガを乗り越えた」「安全を優先して棄権すべきだった」など議論になっていた。
負傷後、羽生は国内で治療を続け、連盟を通じ、「今後のスケジュールについては、ケガの回復具合をみながら検討したいと思います」とコメントしていた。
28日から2日間に渡って行われるNHK杯で、3位以内に入れば、12月、スペイン・バルセロナで開催されるグランプリファイナルに出場できる。
