ハワイのキラウエア火山を撮影した新しい動画を見てみると、ピクサーの新作短編映画「Lava」が現実になったかのようだ。
7月28日にキラウエア火山のプウ・オオ火口内部をヘリコプターから撮影した360度動画を見ると、光を放つ巨大な目を持ち、恐ろしい笑みを浮かべた顔のように見える。

海に流れ込むこの溶岩がどこから来ているかわかりますか？ 海から約10キロ以上先にある、キラウエア火山のプウ・オオ火口です。
ハワイ島に位置するキラウエア火山は世界最大の活火山のひとつで、33年以上にわたって継続的に噴火している。26日には、プウ・オオ火口から流出して数週間かけて移動した溶岩流が2013年以来初めて、海に到達した。
