秋の運動会シーズンが到来。日本各地の学校で体育大会が開かれているが、大阪府内で生徒同士が組み合う「組体操」の人間ピラミッドが崩壊して、負傷者が出る事故が発生した。YouTubeに投稿された動画が再生数50万回を超えるなど拡散したことで、人間ピラミッドの危険性を指摘する声が相次いでいる。
■前年にも負傷者「けがへの認識が甘かった」
事故が起きたのは、大阪府八尾市の大正中学校の運動会。産経WESTによると、9月27日、男子生徒が四つんばいで積み重なって作る10段ピラミッドのバランスが崩れ、下から6段目の生徒が右腕を骨折。ほか5人が打撲やすり傷を負った。
大正中学では、2014年の運動会でも10段のピラミッドが完成後に崩れて1人が足首を骨折するなど、前日の練習中や別の組み体操も含めて計4人の生徒が骨折していた。このため今回の運動会に向けて配置する教員を増やすなどの対策を取って10段のピラミッドを継続していた。横川一敏校長は「けがへの認識が甘かった。リスクの高い技に挑戦させてしまったことは判断が誤っていたと反省している」と話した。
■各地で相次ぐ組体操の事故
組体操の事故は各地で起きている。日本スポーツ振興センター（JSC）によると、災害共済給付制度で医療費が支給された件数は2013年度に全国の小学校で6349件、中学校で1869件、高校で343件に上った。
こういった状況の中、大阪市教委が9月1日に人間ピラミッドの段数を5段までに制限する方針を決めるなど、組体操のあり方を見直す動きが各地で出始めていた。
大阪府の松井一郎知事は八尾市教委から今回の事故報告を受けて、原因を検証するとしたうえで「事故が起きたからには、段数の制限や組み体操のあり方を指導していきたい」と述べた。

教育評論家の尾木直樹さん（通称：尾木ママ）も「大人の安全意識が低すぎる」と10月3日、自身のブログで警鐘を鳴らした。
