「イスラム国」に韓国人の戦闘員? アメリカの研究者がTwitterに投稿

イラクやシリアで勢力を広げるイスラム過激派組織「イスラム国」(IS)の韓国人メンバーだとする写真を、アメリカの研究者がTwitterにアップして、情報の真偽などが話題になっている。

イラクやシリアで勢力を広げるイスラム過激派組織「イスラム国」(IS)の韓国人戦闘員だとする写真を、アメリカの研究者がTwitterにアップして、情報の真偽などが話題になっている。

アメリカのシンクタンク・ブルックリン研究所ドーハセンターのチャールズ・リスター客員研究員は12月13日、「韓国人のIS戦闘員だ。『アブ・セイフ』として知られている」とTwitterに写真付きで投稿した。

写真には、東洋人とみられる若い男性が銃を担いで馬に乗っている姿が映っている。

聯合ニュースによると、韓国政府は投稿直後から事実確認を進めていたが、現時点では「その可能性は低い」との結論に傾いているという。

同ニュースが伝えた韓国政府関係者の話では「IS隊員にしては奇妙な点が多い。服装があまりに粗末で、ウイグル族のようにも見える。IS隊員が馬に乗っているというのも理解しにくい」として、撮影場所もイラクやシリア以外の可能性が高いとみているという。

ISを巡っては、以前から外国人戦闘員の存在が指摘されていた。2014年9月、イラク政府軍に逮捕されたメンバーが、構成員の出身国として「韓国、アメリカ、ソマリア、中国、タジキスタン」などをあげたと報道された。日本でも、北海道大学の男子大学生が戦闘員として加わろうとしたことが明らかになっている
