トルコ最大の都市イスタンブールで10月6日午後3時50分（現地時間）、バイクに仕掛けられた爆弾が爆発し、当局の発表によると少なくとも10人が負傷した。アナトリア通信などが報じた。
爆発があったのは、イスタンブールの国際空港（アタチュルク国際空港）からほど近いイェニボスナ地区にある警察署の近く。イスタンブール県のシャーヒン知事によると、負傷者は全員民間人で、命に別条はないという。
目撃者の証言によると、爆発の直前に黒いジャケットに赤いフード姿の男が警察署の前でバイクを乗り捨て、逃走したという。
トルコでは、この1年間に過激派組織IS（イスラム国）や、「クルド労働者党」などクルド人武装勢力の犯行とされるテロ攻撃が相次いでいる。NHKによると、「現地メディアは、警察を狙った犯行であることから、クルド労働者党によるものという見方を示している」と伝えている。
シャーヒン知事は「今回の事件の背後に、何らかの武装組織が関与していた可能性がある」として、当局が捜査を進めていると語った。
