ブッシュ前米大統領の弟で元フロリダ州知事のジェブ・ブッシュ氏が、2016年大統領選への出馬を本格的に検討していることが分かった。

[ワシントン 16日 ロイター] - ブッシュ前米大統領の弟で元フロリダ州知事のジェブ・ブッシュ氏が、2016年大統領選への出馬を本格的に検討していることが分かった。ブッシュ氏は16日、選挙資金の受け皿となる「政治行動委員会(PAC)」を来年1月にも設立する意向を表明。

どれだけの支持を集められるかを見極めたうえで、立候補の是非を判断するとしている。

共和党の候補指名レースは混戦模様を呈している。ブッシュ氏が指名を勝ち取るには、党内保守派の反対をおさえる必要がある。ブッシュ家から既に2人の大統領が出ていることもネックになる可能性がある。
