J.Kローリングは、Twitterを使ってトランプ大統領と戦い続ける 「次はアメリカ、あなたたちの番」

『ハリー・ポッター』シリーズで有名な作家のJ.K.ローリング氏が、トランプ大統領やその政策を嫌っているというのは秘密でもなんでもない。

「無知で簡単にコントロールできる男が、核のボタンのすぐ近くにいるということは、世界中の人にとって重要なことです」

ローリング氏はアメリカ大統領選の1カ月前、こうツイートしている。これは、自身の立ち位置を世間に表明するためにSNSを活用するという彼女の習慣を守ってのことだ。

彼女が呟いたトランプ大統領に関するツイートをいくつか紹介しよう。

トランプ氏は、「言葉は言葉以上のものではない」と言った。(※)これは彼の告発であり、同時に弁明でもある。言葉は重要ではない。事実は重要ではない。だとしたら、私たちはみな、途方に暮れるしかない。

ローリング氏はトランプ氏が選挙で勝った後も、懸念している問題について発言することをやめなかった。イスラム教徒と難民を標的にした大統領令も、彼女の懸念事項のひとつだった。

ローリング氏は大統領令に反抗するツイートの中から、珠玉のものをリツイートした。

同性愛者たちのためにケーキを焼くことは許されるのに、絶望的な立場にいて、助けを求めている人たちに同じことができない。そんな状況でも聖書が妥当だと言うのはすごく不自然だと思う。

また、ローリング氏は、「旅行の思い出」についての意見を募るトランプ・ホテルのツイートに対する応答も積極的にシェアした。

以下2つの回答を、ローリング氏は気に入ったようだ。

私の父は18歳の時にナチスから逃れた。ユース・ホステルで一緒になった2人の見知らぬ人が、父がイギリスでビザを取得するために200ポンド出してくれた。それで父は、命が助かった。

私の祖母は(シリアの)アレッポからエリス島(アメリカのニューヨーク湾内にある島)にやってきて、アメリカでより良い生活をするようにと歓迎された。このままのアメリカであってほしい...。

また、トランプ氏が1月29日にTwitterでヨーロッパの政策を批判した時も、ローリング氏は他者がトランプ氏の発言を皮肉ったツイートを引用することで反応を示した。

私たちの国には、強固な国境と厳重な入国審査が必要だ。今すぐにだ。ヨーロッパ中で、そして、世界中で起こっていることを見てみろ。恐るべき混乱だ!

ローリング氏の行動はリツイートだけではない。

ローリング氏は1月29日、マイク・ペンス副大統領が2015年に投稿した、「イスラム教徒を入国禁止にするという要求は不快だし、憲法違反だ」というツイートをシェアした。

彼女はシンプルに聖書の引用をし、ペンス副大統領のツイートに反応を示した。

「人は、たとい全世界を手に入れても、まことのいのちを損じたら、何の得がありましょう」。

このツイートに対して、トランプ支持者が憎悪に満ちたメッセージを多数投稿した。しかし、ローリングはその一つひとつに見事に反論した。

ローリング氏は1月30日、ウィンストン・チャーチルを引用してこうツイートしている。

「あなたに敵はいますか?それはよかった。敵がいるということは、あなたが何かのために、何かを変えるために立ち向かっているということだからだ」——ウィンストン・チャーチル
