「コロラド州は、私たちに親になるチャンス、そして子供にとって最善だと思う決断をするチャンスをくれました」と乳児てんかんを患うミリーちゃんの父親ペン・マティソンさんは話す。マティソン一家はミリーちゃんのCBDオイルを手に入れるため、コロラド州に引っ越した。
ミリーちゃんは赤ちゃんの時に最高で1日700回も痙攣を起こし、異常脳波「ヒプスアリスミア」を伴う乳児けいれんだと診断された。しかしマティソンさんによれば、CBDオイルの投与後90日間もたたないうちに、ミリーちゃんの発作の回数は75％～90％減ったそうだ。
「なぜみんながCBDオイルの使用をためらうのか、私には理解出来ません」とマティソンさんは話す。「今は、そういったことは忘れて、先に進むべき時期なのだと思います」
