【熊本地震】熊本城、しゃちほこ落下か 石垣が崩れ屋根瓦も落下(画像)

熊本県で4月14日にあった強い地震の影響で、熊本城の屋根瓦が落ち、石垣が崩れるなどの大きな被害が出た。

熊本県で4月14日にあった強い地震の影響で、観光名所として知られる熊本城(熊本市)の屋根瓦が落ち、石垣が崩れるなどの大きな被害が出ている。

NHKニュースによると、国の重要文化財となっている長塀が約100メートルにわたり倒壊、石垣は少なくとも6カ所で崩れている。天守閣へ向かう正面の門「頬当御門」付近では、崩れた石垣で道がふさがっているという。

また、朝日新聞デジタルによれば、天守閣の東西に乗っていた2体のしゃちほこがなくなっており、熊本城総合事務所で探している。

熊本城総合事務所は「甚大な被害を被り非常に危険」として、15日の一般公開中止を決めた。16日以降の公開は、被害状況を確認後に判断するという。

現在の熊本城は1607年に加藤清正によって開城された。明治維新後の西南戦争(1877年)で天守閣などの大半が焼け落ち、第2次大戦後の1960年に再建されている。敷地内にイチョウの木が多く「銀杏城」の異名も持つ。
