マレーシアで数百人の遺体見つかる、人身売買の被害者か

マレーシアのザヒド内相は24日、タイとの国境近くで多数の遺体が埋められているのが見つかったと明らかにした。人身売買の被害者が埋葬された可能性があり、捜査が進められているという。

[クアラルンプール 24日 ロイター] - マレーシアのザヒド内相は24日、タイとの国境近くで多数の遺体が埋められているのが見つかったと明らかにした。人身売買の被害者が埋葬された可能性があり、捜査が進められているという。

同内相は具体的な遺体の数は明かさなかったが、メディアの報道によると、ミャンマーやバングラデシュから逃れてきた数百人が埋められた可能性がある。中には、迫害を逃れるためミャンマーを脱出したイスラム系少数民族ロヒンギャ族が含まれているとみられる。

地元紙は、警察が北部ペルリス州で計30カ所の大規模な集団墓地を発見したと報道。ザヒド内相は「現在は初期捜査の段階で、(集団墓地は)さらに見つかるだろう」と語った。

また、人身売買組織の収容施設も見つかっており、同内相は「少なくとも5年間は施設が使われていたとみている」とし、マレーシア人も事件に関与しているとの見方を示した。
