■休校する学校が相次ぐ 誤報メールを送った学校も
この事態を受け、韓国全土で約210の小中高校が休校となった。ソウルでは、教職員や生徒がMERS感染が疑われる人と接触したという状況はなかったが、予防策としての休校を保護者側が強く求めたため、小学校3校と中学校1校が休校を決定した。
韓国中部の忠清北道（チュンチョンブクド）では、ある中学校が「忠清北道にMERS患者が発生」との誤った情報を保護者にテキストメッセージを送付。誤報だとわかると、保護者らの不安を煽ったとして学校側が謝罪した。
■自宅隔離対象者なのにゴルフに出かける女性も
感染者が増える中で、感染の危険があるとされた隔離対象者の無責任な行動も問題になっている。自宅隔離を指示されたソウルの50代女性は、夫ら15人と共にゴルフ場に出かけており、当局の依頼で警察が居場所を突き止めた。女性は「（家にいると）息が詰まるので、外の風に当たろうと思った」と話しているという。
