「1日目を乗り切ったな！」。大統領就任式翌日のデモに参加したムーア監督は叫んだ。「今日はトランプの悲劇、2日目だ」
演説のはじめ、ムーア監督はトランプ大統領就任式の記事を一面に載せたワシントンポスト紙をかざし、こう語り出した。
「今朝起きてワシントンポストを見たら、第一面の見出しにこう書いてあった。『トランプ、権力を握る』と書いてあった」と、ムーア監督は演説で語り出した。
「俺はそう思わないな！ 権力は、ここにあるんだよ。アメリカ国民の多数派の声はここにある。ここにいる俺たちが多数派なんだ」
ムーア監督は、さらにワシントンポストを読み進めた。「『新大統領、アメリカの殺戮を終わらせると誓う』だってよ」。
「トランプさんよ、俺たちがトランプ政権の殺戮を終わらせるんだ」
ムーア監督は手にしていたワシントンポストを真っ二つに破って捨てた。
「後でちゃんと拾うよ。リサイクルだ」
