イスラエルのネタニヤフ首相、ヨルダンのヒップホップグループの曲を勝手に使って訴えられる

選挙キャンペーンで人気の楽曲を使って問題になるケースがあるが、イスラエルのベンヤミン・ネタニヤフ首相も選挙キャンペーンでヨルダンのヒップホップグループ「Torabyeh」の曲「Ghorbah」を使用して訴えられた。

選挙キャンペーンで人気の楽曲を使って問題になるケースがあるが、イスラエルのベンヤミン・ネタニヤフ首相も選挙キャンペーンで使った曲が原因で訴えられた。

3月に総選挙を控えたイスラエルでは、続投を狙うネタニヤフ現首相がテレビ等で選挙運動を展開しており、最近公開されたCMでは、ダーイシュ(イスラム国)の過激派兵士に扮した俳優たちがヨルダンのヒップホップグループ「Torabyeh」の曲「Ghorbah」を聞きながら砂漠の中を車で疾走しているシーンがある。

このダーイシュとの関わりを連想させるこのCMに曲が使われたことに、Torabyehのメンバーが激怒した。結成当初からのメンバーであるフィラス・シハーデさんは「ショックを受けている」と言い、我々は「ダーイシュにもイスラエルにも反対している」とロイターのインタビューで述べている

そしてネタニヤフ首相と、彼が率いる右派政党のリクードが、楽曲の使用許諾を取っていなかったため、Torabyehは彼らに対して法的措置を講じたという。

問題になったCM「Us or Them(私たちを選ぶか、彼らを選ぶか)」の内容はこうだ。大音量で音楽を流しながらトラックを走らせているダーイシュの兵士たちが、イスラエル人が運転する車の横で止まる。そして、エルサレムへの道順を尋ねると、「左へ曲がれ」と言われる。

これは、ネタニヤフ首相率いる右派リクードに対抗する左派政党に投票すれば、イスラエルに対するテロ攻撃の危険度が増すことを暗に伝えているものだと、イスラエル紙「Haaretz」は伝えている。またTorabyehがFacebookに掲載した声明によれば、CMの最後には「左派はテロに屈する」という文章も登場するという。なお、このCMは現在、YouTubeなどほとんどのサイトで非公開となっているが、「エルサレム・ポスト」紙の記事で閲覧することができる。

この物議を醸しているCM以外にもネタニヤフ首相は選挙キャンペーンCMを作っており、話題になっている。ネタニヤフ首相本人が、首相の愛称「ビビ」をもじったベビーシッターならぬ「ビビシッター」として出演して、対立する他政党にイスラエルの子どもの世話は任せられないと揶揄する内容のCMはコメディタッチの内容で、法的な問題はなさそうだ。

選挙キャンペーンでの楽曲の使用をめぐっては、ネタニヤフ首相のみならず、これまでにも多くの政治家がミュージシャンと対立している。アメリカでは30年ほど前から、大統領候補たちが大々的に楽曲をキャンペーン・ソングとして採用しているが、使用差し止めを受けるケースも発生している。

たとえば熱狂的な民主党支持者として知られるブルース・スプリングスティーンは、共和党のレーガン候補が「ボーン・イン・ザ・U.S.A」を使うことを強く非難したし、トム・ペティは、ジョージ・W・ブッシュならびにジョン・マケインが「I Won’t Back Down」を使用しないよう法的措置を取ると言って、使用をやめさせた。

しかし、Torabyehの曲をダーイシュと結びつけて使ったネタニヤフ首相のCMは、選挙戦で単にヒット曲を使用することに比べて、はるかに行き過ぎていて、侮辱的なものだ。シハーデさんがロイターに話しているとおり、「Ghorbah」は、パレスチナの政治的疎外を歌っている曲であり、しかも、このCMが発表されたのは、ヨルダン人パイロットがダーイシュに無残に殺害された直後で、ヨルダンが神経質になっている時期なのだ。

パイロットが殺害されて以降、ヨルダンでは反ダーイシュの動きが高まっており、ダーイシュとつながりがある人間はすべて厳しく糾弾され、当局にマークされている。
