フランス南部ニースで7月14日に発生したテロ事件で、フランス検察当局は15日、少なくとも死者が84人死亡、202人が負傷、うち52人が重体と発表した。

フランス南部ニースで7月14日に発生したテロ事件で、フランス検察当局は15日、少なくとも死者が84人死亡、202人が負傷、うち52人が重体と発表した。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。

ロイターによると、テロの容疑者はニース在住でチュニジア国籍のモハメド・ラフエジブフレル容疑者(31)。ラフエジブフレル容疑者は白の25トントラックでニースの海岸沿いにある遊歩道「プロムナード・デ・ザングレ」を約2キロにわたってジグザグ走行し、その後銃を乱射した。容疑者はその後警官に射殺された。

テレグラフ紙によると、容疑者はトラック内に偽物のライフル銃と使用できない手榴弾を積んでいた。警官が職務質問したが、容疑者は「アイスクリームの配達だ」と話し、警官も車内を捜索することはなかったという。

ニューヨーク・タイムズによると、フランスのオランド大統領は2015年11月13日のパリ同時多発テロ事件から発令していた非常事態宣言をさらに3カ月延長した。

オランド大統領は今回の襲撃を「まぎれもない事実上のテロリストだ」と述べたが、情報機関はラフエジブフレル容疑者についての情報を把握していなかった。

ワシントン・ポストによると、フランスのフランソワ・モランス検事は「ラフエジブフレル容疑者と過激派との間に明確な結びつきはない」と述べ、「こうしたテロを未然に防ぐことは困難だった」と強調した。ラフエジブフレル容疑者は2010年以降で暴行や窃盗に関連していたが、検事はテロリストを捜査していた当局の間では「全く知られていなかった」と述べた。

「テロの犯行声明はまだ出ていないが、こうした襲撃はテロ組織の支援を受けたものに違いない」とモランス検事は述べた。
