原発が大雪で緊急停止、5日前に「原子力は冬の寒さからあなたを守る」と宣伝　アメリカ

アメリカのピルグリム原子力発電所が、大雪が原因で緊急停止した。5日前に「冬の寒さから原子力が市民を守る」という趣旨の原子力政策を宣伝するツイートを行ったばかりだった。

アメリカのマサチューセッツ州にあるピルグリム原子力発電所が1月27日、緊急停止した。大雪による停電で、発電所に電力を供給していた外部電源の一部が消失したためとみられる。

現地紙のテレグラムによると、同発電所では悪天候に備えて事前に原子炉の出力を下げる対応をとっており、また、電源が喪失したときにも、非常用電源を使って原子炉を安全に冷却するシステムを稼働させたという。マサチューセッツ州エネルギー環境局長官は、安全上の問題も外部への影響もないと述べた。発電所の広報担当者は、非常用電源用の燃料は10日分あるとしており、調達もできるとしている。

なお、電源消失が起こる5日前の1月22日、同発電所はTwitterに「信頼性：原子力発電所は、寒い冬の日も24時間365日、都市へ電力を供給します」という原子力政策を宣伝するコメントを投稿していた。このツイートには「原子力は冬の寒さからあなたを守るためにある」と書かれた画像も添付されていた。
