カナダとアメリカ東部が3月12日以降暴風雪に襲われ、数千世帯が停電し、この地域は深い雪で覆われた。

写真家ジョン・クコさんは、オンタリオ湖岸にある家を動画に収め、12日に投稿した。

凍ってしまった! 今週オンタリオ湖が暴風雪に見舞われた影響だ。

湖からの風と波、凍てつく気温が一緒になり、ニューヨーク州ウェブスターにあるこの家を完全に氷で覆った。

かなり激しいが、実はこの地域では、こうした現象は珍しくないようだ。

華氏6度、北西30 分厚く水平なつららは、連日海から吹き付ける凍える水しぶきにより変形したものだ。

2016年冬には、エリー湖近くの車が氷漬けになった。

エリー湖レッカー&リカバリーのスタッフが、車の氷でできた覆いを壊し、氷の殻の一部を置いている。
