澤穂希選手「本当に最高のサッカー人生でした」 引退会見で語ったこと

15歳で日本代表としてデビューしてから、20年以上も女子サッカー界を牽引してきたことを振り返りました。

女子サッカーの澤穂希選手(37)が12月17日、都内で引退会見を開いた。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。15歳で日本代表としてデビューしてから20年以上も女子サッカー界を牽引してきたことを振り返り、「人生で最大の決断となりましたが、本当に最高のサッカー人生でした」と話した。

会見での澤選手の発言の抜粋は以下の通り。

■引退後は「子供たちに夢を与えられるような仕事を」

――まずは澤選手ご自身のお言葉を

このたび私、澤穂希は今季をもちまして現役を引退することを決断しました。引退の一番の理由は、心と体が一致してトップレベルで戦うことが、段々難しくなってきたと感じたからです。(10秒ほど言葉をつまらせる)。人生の最大の決断となりましたが、悔いのないやりきった、本当に最高のサッカー人生でした。皇后杯が最大で3試合残っています。今までたくさんの方々に応援していただいたことに、感謝の気持ちを込めて、精一杯プレイし、サッカー選手・澤穂希としての生き様を見せたいと思います。今まで応援してくださった皆さま、本当に長い間、有り難うございました。

――感が極まるようなシーンもありましたが、今のお気持ちはどうでしょうか?

本当に長い間サッカーを続けてきて、たくさんのことを経験して、本当にやりきったなと。最高のサッカー人生だったなと。そういう心境でおります。

――引退を決めた時期はいつだったんでしょう?

去年から現役を続けるか続けないか自問自答を何度も繰り返してきました。その中で、主人にも背中を押してもらって、サポートをしてもらって、この1年本当に頑張れたと思っています。(2015年の)ワールドカップを終えたときに「悔いなくやりきったな」という瞬間があって、そのときくらいから「今年いっぱいかな」という気持ちでここまで来ました。

――ワールドカップを終えた後、それとも終える前から何か感じたところがあったんでしょうか?

去年、日本代表から外れたときにいろないろなことを考えて、心も体も一致してトップレベルにするには難しいかなと自分自身思っていたので。「この一年かな」と思っていました。

――心と体の不一致とは具体的にはどういうところなんでしょうか?

2011年のワールドカップのときとかに比べると、体の疲れが取れなかったりとか、気持ちの面で目標に向かっていくのに難しい面もありました。

――8月8日に入籍で今回の引退発表と、どうしても結婚と引退を結びつけて考えてしまうんですが。ご自身としては

全くそれはないです。結婚していようがいまいが、この決断には変わりがなかったと思います。むしろ主人が支えてくれたので、この1年頑張れたと思っています。

――これから皇后杯がありますが、この発表のタイミングを選んだ理由は?

皇后杯が終わってからでバイバイでは寂しすぎるので、皇后杯が終わる前にみんなと共有意識を持ってやりたかったので。皇后杯に向けてチームが一つになるためにも、このタイミングで発表をさせていただきました。

――皇后杯で最大3試合、どういうプレイを見せてくれますか?

1試合、1試合、今まで持っていた全ての力を出し切って、全ての人に感謝を込めて澤穂希らしいドロ臭いというか最後まで諦めないプレイ、見せれたらいいなと思います。

――ゴールを見たいんですけど。

意識しすぎると、うまくゴールできないので、チームに貢献する中でゴールできたらうれしいです。

――引退後はどんなライフプランを?

そうですね。今は皇后杯が終わったら、ちょっとだけ体と心を休ませてから、澤穂希にしかできない仕事をやっていけたらと思っています。子供が大好きなので、日本女子サッカーの底辺を広げるためにも子供たちに夢を与えられるような仕事ができればいいなと思っています。
