韓国の朴槿恵大統領の退陣を求める5週目の「ろうそく集会」が11月26日、首都・ソウルを始め全国各地で開かれた。

ソウル中心部の光化門広場では約150万人(午後9時40分現在、主催者側の累積値発表。警察発表は瞬間最大値で約32万人)が参加し、最多記録を更新した。全国の参加者は主催者発表で約190万人となった。11月12日は約100万人、19日は約95万人(ソウル約60万人、地方約35万人)が参加している。

約1500の市民団体でつくる「朴槿恵政権退陣 非常国民運動」(退陣行動)は26日午後6時から光化門広場で、朴槿恵大統領の即時退陣を求めるイベントを開催した。

朴槿恵氏の父・朴正熙大統領時代に禁止曲となり、民主化運動のテーマソングともなった「朝露」(アッチミスル)のヤン・ヒウンや、人気歌手のアン・チファンがステージに立った。アンはヒット曲「愛は花より美しい」を「下野は花より美しい」と歌い、会場の雰囲気は高揚した。

イベントに先立ち午後4時から、青瓦台(大統領府)に向けた3ルートのデモ行進が出発した。デモ参加者は、青瓦台から約200~400メートルの距離まで接近し、東・南・西の3方から取り囲んで(北側は山)、「青瓦台 人間の鎖」を初めて実現した。

この日のソウルは初雪だった。朝から強い風と雪だったが、デモ行進の直前に止んだ。レインコートを着たり傘を差したりした参加者たちは「朴槿恵を逮捕しろ」「もう降伏しろ」などと叫んで青瓦台方面に向けて行進した。

午後6時からは光化門広場で、著名人や市民の演説や、朴大統領を批判する映像の上映、公演などが始まった。

その後は、8ルートに分かれて再びデモ行進した。

午後8時、参加者は持っていたライトを一斉に消して「朴槿恵退陣」を叫んだ。集会に参加できなかった人々も家やオフィスなどで明かりを消して集会の趣旨に賛同する「1分消灯」だ。
