アフガニスタンで大地震、死者200人以上

アフガニスタン北東部で26日に発生したマグニチュード(M)7.5の地震で、これまでのところ同国と隣国パキスタンで200人以上が死亡した。

[カブール/ペシャワル(パキスタン) 26日 ロイター] - アフガニスタン北東部で26日に発生したマグニチュード(M)7.5の地震で、これまでのところ同国と隣国パキスタンで200人以上が死亡した。当局によると、負傷者も多数出ているという。

震源地に近い山岳地帯の大部分との通信網が途絶えていることから、今後犠牲者はさらに増えるとみられている。

また、震源地にあるバダフシャン州のタロガンでは、地震発生後に学校の校舎から逃げようとした女子生徒少なくとも12人が圧死する事故も起きた。

また同州知事によると、約1450戸の家屋が倒壊した。

パキスタン北部カイバル・パクトゥンクワ州の当局者によると、同州では167人が死亡。また軍報道官は、負傷者も約1000人に達したと話した。

パキスタンの被害のほとんどはアフガンと国境を接する北部や北西部で出ており、今後も死者は増えるとみられている。

今回の地震を受けて、米国やイランなどが人道支援の提供を申し出ている。一方、アフガンでは反政府勢力タリバンが勢力を強めており、治安状況が悪化していることから救助・支援活動は難航するとみられている。
