JPモルガンの住宅ローン担保証券(MBS)不正問題、和解金130億ドルの暫定合意が成立しない可能性も

アメリカの金融大手JPモルガン・チェースが司法省に支払う130億ドル(約1兆2700億円)の暫定的合意が成立しない危険性があると、ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナルやロイターが報じており、ハフィントンポストUS版でもトップで伝えている。

アメリカの金融大手JPモルガン・チェースが司法省に支払う130億ドル(約1兆2700億円)の暫定合意が成立しない危険性があると、ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナルロイターが報じており、ハフィントンポストUS版でもトップで伝えている。

2008年のリーマン・ショックの原因にもなった、サブプライムローンを組み込んだ住宅ローン担保証券(MBS)という金融証券取引に関し、JPモルガンがリスクを十分に説明しないまま販売先の政府系金融会社に販売していたという疑いで司法省や連邦住宅金融庁(FHFA)がJPモルガンを調査していた。

10月19日、JPモルガンと司法省との間で暫定合意が成立したことが発表されている

この暫定合意について、CNNは次のように伝えている。

JPモルガンが罰金90億ドルに加え、住宅ローンの借り手を救済する資金して40億ドルを支払う。合意が正式に成立すれば、金融危機に関連して単独の金融機関が支払う金額としては過去の例よりはるかに高額となる。双方の法務担当者が詳細を詰めたうえで、数日中に正式発表される見通しだ。

朝日新聞デジタルによると、130億ドルという和解金は、アメリカのの金融機関が1社で当局に支払う金額として過去最大になるという。

しかし、この暫定合意が成立しない可能性が高まった。

ロイターは次のように伝えている。

JPモルガンによるワシントン・ミューチュアル(貯蓄貸付組合ワシントン・ミューチュアル・バンクの持株会社)買収に関する法的責任について、銀行と連邦預金保険公社との間で長期的な見解の相違があるため、この和解はリスクにさらされている。

JPモルガンのダイモンCEOは、住宅バブルの際の住宅ローン販売に関する連邦政府と州当局による複数の民事事件調査を終了させる包括的な解決策を推し進めていた。

ビジネス・インサイダー」によると、暫定合意が実施されない可能性が出てきたニュースを受けて、JPモルガン株が0.70%下落した。
