白人警官による男性射殺事件、風刺画が話題「警官に出くわしたら...」

白人警察官が武器を持たずにその場から走り去ろうとした黒人男性を射殺した事件を受け、「警官に出くわした時の対処法」という風刺画がネットで話題になっている。

アメリカ南部のサウスカロライナ州で、白人警察官が、武器を持たずにその場から走り去ろうとした黒人男性を射殺したとして、4月7日、逮捕・訴追された

この事件を受け、「警官に出くわした時の対処法」という風刺画がTwitterで話題になっている。クマを警官になぞらえ、どのように対応することが適切かを解説したものだ。

風刺画は「目を合わさない」、「逃げない」、 「脅威になるような振る舞いをしない」、「死んだふりをする」の4つの方法を紹介。逃げたら銃の引き金を引かれる恐れがあることや、相手を殺したと感じたら、警官は攻撃することをやめることなどが書かれている。

このイラストを作成したのは、ニューヨーク在住の作家でアーティストのクリストファー・キルティーさん。2014年11月25日に、発表した。

この時アメリカでは、ミズーリ州セントルイス郡ファーガソンで黒人少年のマイケル・ブラウンさん(18)が、丸腰であるにもかかわらずセントルイス郡の警察官に射殺された事件の裁判が行われていた。11月24日にはミズーリ州の大陪審が、警察官の起訴を見送る決定を下し、住民による暴動が起きた

今回の事件を受けて、他のTwitterユーザーがこのイラストを投稿し1000件以上リツイートされている。キルティーさんも再びこの風刺画を投稿。「このイラストが妥当性を失うようになるまで待ち遠しい」とコメントしている。
